Alex Sancaya has been promoted to the role of Managing Director for Sony Music Entertainment, Indonesia. his appointment comes less than a year after Julius Ng was appointed Managing Director of Sony Music Entertainment Malaysia and Singapore.
Sancaya will remain based out of Jakarta. He will report directly to Denis Handlin, Sony Music Australia and New Zealand’s Chairman and CEO and President of Sony Music Asia.
Handlin said of Sancaya: “During this time he has led and directed Sony Music Indonesia’s business operations with distinction and enthusiasm which has seen the company exceed its business plan targets and he has established excellent relations with our local artists and business partners.”
Handlin also added that Indonesia is an “important market for Sony Music with a vibrant local artist community.”
Prior to Sony Music, Sancaya held senior management positions at FMCG companies including L’Oreal and Danone.Music Business Worldwide
