After raising $37m in January, Symphonic Distribution buys marketing agency, Streaming Promotions

Symphonic CEO Jorge Brea

Florida-headquartered music distributor Symphonic Distribution has acquired Nashville-based marketing agency Streaming Promotions.

Founded in 2015, Streaming Promotions says that its “mission” is to increase artist exposure on streaming services.

Commenting on the acquisition, Symphonic CEO Jorge Brea told MBW that, “we felt it important to provide our distributed clients an authentic marketing experience that can help their music find new audiences outside of DSP specific promotions”.

Streaming Promotions claims to have relationships with over 1,500 playlist curators.

The firm’s past clients include the likes of the Baha Men, Enrique Iglesias, For King & Country, Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors, Judah & the Lion, Daughtry, Tim McGraw and more.

Launched in 2006 by former music producer Jorge Brea, Symphonic announced in January that it had raised $37 million in a Series B round of funding.

The investment was led by NewSpring and Ballast Point Ventures.

Symphonic says that Streaming Promotions will continue to operate independently, “while applying Symphonic’s technology and infrastructure to help double down and continue growing their business, clientele, and services”.

In addition to its Florida HQ, Symphonic has an international presence in Africa, Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Spain and more.

The company recently made its first executive appointment to “focus solely on building Web3 solutions” for its clients, with Jonathan Carmel joining the firm as Web3 and NFT Lead.

“Although there are many shortcuts to gaining streams, we are thrilled to have found a partner in Symphonic who shares our vision for artist success.”
