After launching $100m fund, Influence Media buys catalog from Grammy-nominated songwriter Ali Tamposi

Last month, New York-based music and entertainment investment firm Influence Media Partners launched a fund to invest in what it described as “award-winning catalogs of some of music’s most influential female music creators”.

The fund, co-founded with Municipal Employment Retirement System (“MERS of Michigan”), carries an initial value of up to $100 million in investable capital.

Today, Influence Media has announced its first acquisition as part of the partnership with MERS.

The firm has acquired a portfolio of select copyrights from the catalog of Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum songwriter Ali Tamposi.

Included in the deal are Tamposi’s stake in songs performed by Camila Cabello (Havana), Selena Gomez (It Ain’t Me, with Kygo), Shawn Mendes (Señorita, with Camila Cabello), Justin Bieber (Let Me Love You, with DJ Snake), Beyoncé (Save The Hero), Kelly Clarkson (Stronger [What Doesn’t Kill You]), BTS (Airplane Pt. 2), Cardi B (Thru Your Phone) and others.

Influence Media is led by Founder and Co-Managing Partner Lylette Pizarro, and Co-Managing Partner Lynn Hazan.

Prior to founding Influence Media, Pizarro spent over a decade monetizing music copyrights with blue-chip brands for ads that aired during events including the Grammy Awards and the Super Bowl, while Hazan served a combined 15 years as General Manager & CFO of Epic Records and prior to that, RED Music.

Th launch of Influence Media’s latest venture in music copyrights last month followed the firm’s involvement in Warner & Tempo Music Investments’ acquisition of copyrights from Jeff Bhasker, Shane McAnally and Ben Rector back in December 2019.

Influence Media is also supported by Founding Advisors Rene McLean (CEO, SLANG) and Jon Jashni (Principal, Raintree Ventures).

“We feel honored and privileged to become the custodians of her masterful works, and we are committed to building on her growing legacy.”
