HarbourView Equity Partners has appointed music industry veteran Palisa Kelley as Managing Director and Head of Legal and Business Affairs.
As noted in the press release announcing her appointment, Kelley has over 25 years’ experience in the entertainment industry, during which time she’s structured and negotiated hundreds of music publishing, licensing and catalog acquisition deals.
Founded by former Tempo Music CEO Sherrese Clarke Soares with backing from Apollo Global Management, HarbourView says that it’s “been extremely active” since launching a year ago, having acquired over 40 catalogs to date.
Some of those deals include the publishing catalogs of multi-Grammy award-winning country music artists Lady A and Brad Paisley as well as the publishing catalog of latin music superstar Luis Fonsi.
HarbourView also acquired the catalog of SoundHouse Acquisitions LLC for around $325 million, according to Billboard. The firm says on its website that it has up to $1 billion of investable capital.
Kelley joins HarbourView from music industry law firm Selverne Kelley Bradford, PLLC, where she was a partner.
She previously founded and ran her own legal practice – Kelley Law Group – and prior to that was Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs at Sony/ATV Music Publishing.
While at Sony, among other accomplishments, she structured and negotiated “multi-million-dollar agreements” with artists such as Pitbull, A$AP Rocky and Ricardo Arjona, according to the press release announcing her appointment.
Other recent deals struck by HarbourView Equity Partners include the acquisition of Big Loud Mountain Music’s publisher share of select songs from country music duo Florida Georgia Line’s catalog, and the music publishing catalog of Incubus.
