ADA Worldwide promotes David McGilvray to Senior Vice President, Radio Promotion

Alternative Distribution Alliance (ADA) Worldwide, Warner Music Group’s independent distribution and services arm, has promoted David McGilvray to Senior Vice President, Radio Promotion.

With over 20 years of experience in the music industry, McGilvray previously led numerous successful radio campaigns over a 17-year tenure at Island Def Jam for artists such as The Killers, Fall Out Boy, and Motley Crue.

McGilvray began his career at Bon Jovi Management and Mercury Records.

In addition to the promotion of McGilvray, ADA has made three new hires in the form of Alisa Applegate, Rick Betemit, and Mary Taggart.

Both industry veterans, Applegate joins as Vice President, West Coast Promotion and Rick Betemit as Director, Urban Promotion.

Mary Taggart joins as Regional Promotion Manager.

Senior Director of Promotion, Tommy Delaney will continue to specialize on alternative, rock and triple A radio efforts.

Prior to arriving at ADA, Applegate played a pivotal role in the initial radio stories for artists such as The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj, during her eight-year run as Republic Records’ Sr. Director, Rhythm Radio.

Betemit began his career at Atlantic Records, where he spent 13 years and grew to be a northeast regional radio rep for the urban department and most recently held the same title at Empire Records.

Taggart comes to ADA after marketing roles at Honeymoon Records and, most recently, 300 Entertainment, where she was a part of campaigns for artists such as Young Thug and Tee Grizzley.

ADA’s radio promotion team has already had a strong start to 2019.

Bob Moses’ Back Down is Top 15 at alternative radio, Parker Bossley’s Lifted, is most-added at alternative this week, Jeff Tweedy’s I Know What It’s Like is at No.2 on the Americana chart while continuing to climb the triple-A chart, and Memphis May Fire’s This Old Me has entered the Top 25 at Active Rock—their highest-ranking chart position to date.

“David has a demonstrated record of strategic successes. I am excited to announce his well-deserved promotion.”
