Absolute Label Services signs deals with four classical artists

Absolute Label Services has entered into partnerships with classical artists Carly Paoli, Parker, Jonathan Antoine and Gavin Greenaway.

The deals will see Absolute provide services to each of the acts and their respective labels Abiah Records (Carly Paoli), Gateway 12 Records (Parker – pictured), Cavendish Records (Antoine) and Tenuto Records (Greenaway).

Gavin Greenaway is well-known as the conductor of several major film music scores including The Dark Knight, Gladiator, Interstellar and How To Train Your Dragon.

He has a long-standing, close collaborative relationship with film music titan Hans Zimmer.

Greenaway has also worked alongside such luminaries as Sir George Martin and Phil Ramone as well as writing songs with Bryan Adams and Trevor Horn.

His music soundtracked the Lighting of the Olympic Cauldron at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.

Greenaway turned his hand to his own compositions with the release of his debut album, Il Falco Bianco, on May 20.

Rising to prominence through Britain’s Got Talent, “teenage Pavarotti” Jonathan Antoine saw his first solo album, Tenore, go straight to No.1 on the UK Classical Charts and stay there for three weeks.

His second album, Believe, will be released on August 19, having been co-produced by Chris Broom and Clarissa Farran, and recorded at British Grove and Air-Edel Studios in London.

Classically-trained Carly Paoli is one of the world’s most in-demand mezzo sopranos. Since making her international debut in 2014, she has performed with a number of classical icons including Jose Carreras, Andrea Bocelli and 16-times Grammy award winner David Foster.

Paoli is currently recording her debut album with composer Romano Musumarra, producer Walter Afanasieff – whose credits include Titanic theme My Heart Will Go On – and Oscar-winning songwriter Don Black. It is set for release later this year.

Meanwhile, talented classical pianist Parker released her debut EP at the end of July as well as playing her first ever festival slot at Latitude this year.

Absolute Label Services Director, Mark Dowling, said: “We’re thrilled to be working with such brilliant young classical artists. Carly, Parker and Jonathan all represent the next generation of talent in the genre and we’re confident we can help them attract new fans as well as furthering their appeal among the established classical community.

“Then we’ve got Gavin Greenaway, who is a well established conductor and composer of the highest calibre.

“We’re really excited about working with him and helping him to take his career to even greater heights.”Music Business Worldwide
