Abbey Road Studios acquires remote production start-up Audiomovers

Isabel Garvey, Abbey Road Studios Managing Director

London’s Abbey Road Studios, through start-up incubator arm Abbey Road Red, has acquired Audiomovers, a remote production and music collaboration technology start-up.

Audiomovers allows music professionals to stream, listen to and record high resolution multichannel remote audio in real time, with multiple collaborators.

The move marks the iconic Universal-owned recording studio’s entrance into the remote music production space.

Founded in 2017 by Igor Maxymenko and Yuriy Shevyrov, Abbey Road says that Audiomovers “quickly gained recognition during the pandemic” amongst producers, mixers, songwriters and studios needing to collaborate remotely.

The start-up will continue under the Audiomovers name, with product and technology led by the founders who will now be supported by Abbey Road Studios’ resources and expertise.

Audiomovers is a subscription service priced at $3.99 per week, $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year, with a free weekly trial and available worldwide.

The platform supports lossless multichannel audio, up to 7.1 surround and also includes a set of plugins, Listento and Listento Receiver, as well as mobile apps, with beta desktop software coming soon.

“It’s a natural extension for Abbey Road, enabling creativity beyond the physical building.”
