YouTube Shorts sponsors new category at next month’s A&R Awards

This year’s A&R Awards has another big-name partner, with YouTube Shorts stepping up to sponsor the individual Manager of the Year category – new to the UK-focused event in 2022.

The short-form video-sharing platform is lending its name to what will be a hotly contested competition between managers of established global stars and the year’s biggest breakthrough artists (check out the finalists in this and every other category here)

Dan Chalmers, YouTube’s Head of Music, EMEA, said: “YouTube works with managers throughout the year, and from those relationships we know the importance of YouTube Shorts when it comes to breaking new artists and tracks. So we are delighted to sponsor a category recognising and rewarding the best management companies of the last year at an event that prioritises the execs who constantly search for and champion new music.”

The UK industry’s most enjoyable night out will take place on Tuesday, November 8, at London’s Grand Connaught Rooms.

Other categories include Songwriter of the Year (supported by Hipgnosis), Producer of The Year, A&R of the Year: Pop/R&B (supported by Concord), A&R Administrator (supported by PPL), A&R of The Year: Contemporary Black Music (supported by Spotify), A&R Of The Year: Electronic/Dance, Song of the Year (supported by Hipgnosis), Major Label of The Year (supported by Voly Music) and Independent Label of The Year, Publisher of the Year (supported by Milk & Honey).
