$100m-backed VR platform Sensorium Galaxy partners with superstar DJ Carl Cox

Superstar DJ Carl Cox has been named as the latest artist to join Sensorium Corporation, the ‘social VR platform’ owned by the Sensorium Corporation, a company founded in 2018 by Forbes-listed billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov.

The company has attracted over $100m in investment to date with which to build Sensorium Galaxy and the news of its partnership with Cox follows the announcement that David Guetta has also joined the platform.

The public release of Sensorium Galaxy is scheduled for H1 2021 and is accessible via VR headset, PC, Macs or mobile devices

After the launch of the platform, Cox will perform a series of exclusive DJ sets in virtual reality prepared exclusively for Sensorium Galaxy users.

Sensorium Galaxy consists of several “worlds”, each of which act as a content hub for a particular type of art.

Carl Cox’s performances will be streamed in PRISM World, which is dedicated to music concerts and festivals, and is being built in partnership with Yann Pissenem.

Pissenem is the CEO & Founder of The Night League and creator of the nightclubs Hï Ibiza and Ushuaïa Ibiza.

“I am excited to join Sensorium Galaxy in taking communication and entertainment to the next level. Being a part of their vision is going to be a lot of fun.”

“Carl Cox is amongst the first of many world-famous DJs to be announced to join the platform in the near future.

In September we learned that Jay-Z’s music streaming service, TIDAL, has spent $7 million on tokens (‘SENSO Tokens’) issued by Sensorium Corporation.

SENSO Tokens are the in-world currency of Sensorium Galaxy, which consists of multiple worlds that act as content hubs.

TIDAL’s $7m spend has bought the platform’s artist co-owners – including Jay-Z plus Lil Wayne, Rihanna, Calvin Harris, Daft Punk and Coldplay’s Chris Martin – access to broadcast their content within the Sensorium Galaxy.Music Business Worldwide
