Universal challenges YouTube singer/songwriters to ‘win a record deal’

Universal Music Group‘s UK-based services company, Caroline International, is giving amateur performers the chance to ‘win a record deal’ with the major.

The business has teamed up with studio/performance gear company Focusrite Novation for a new competition, inviting YouTube artists to record and submit a video of themselves singing and performing an original song on an instrument.

The competition, which is underway, will finish on June 10, after which a panel of judges will pick 10 eligible performers that show the most potential.

These will then be passed to the team at Universal/Caroline, who will pick a winner.

There is no entrance fee.  In the promotional video below, Caroline/Universal signing and Focusrite artist Shannon Saunders introduces the competition.
