Kobalt Music Copyrights acquires catalogue of country star Dierks Bentley

Kobalt Music Copyrights, the independent acquisitive fund managed by Kobalt Music Group, has fully acquired the songwriting catalogue of multi-platinum country act Dierks Bentley.

The catalogue spans over eight studio albums and 15 No.1 hits.

In addition, Kobalt has signed a worldwide publishing administration agreement for Bentley’s future works.

The deal is Kobalt Music Copyrights first publicly-acknowledged acquisition since it snapped up the Nettwerk publishing catalogue in July.

“I couldn’t be more happy about joining the Kobalt team,” said Bentley.

“Everyone I’ve had a chance to meet emits a feeling of belief in the power of songs and songwriting. You can’t help but sense their excitement about writing collaborations and possibilities.

“I look forward to having the positive energy surrounding me as we start thinking about the next project.”

“Dierks Bentley is a gifted artist and songwriter who has only grown stronger over the years.”

CMA award-winner Bentley released his eighth studio album, BLACK (Capitol Records Nashville), earlier this year.

The LP has spawned the Gold-certified (US) “Different for Girls” (featuring Elle King) and the platinum-selling hit “Somewhere On A Beach.”

Willard Ahdritz, Founder and CEO of Kobalt, commented, “Dierks Bentley is a gifted artist and songwriter who has only grown stronger over the years.

“We very much believe in him and feel strongly that he will keep growing and that the best is yet to come.”

Jesse Willoughby, General Manager of Kobalt, Nashville stated, “We couldn’t be more excited to bring such a phenomenal artist like Dierks Bentley into the Kobalt family.

“His career continues to thrive as he pushes new boundaries on every project. His eighth album release speaks volumes about his contribution to country music and popular culture as a whole. Welcome to Kobalt, Dierks!”

KMC is an independent investment fund established in 2011.

It is advised and managed by Kobalt Capital Ltd – but operates as a separate entity to Kobalt Music Group.
