Kobalt Hires Lonny Olinick to run strategic business development

In his new role, effective immediately, Olinick will be responsible for finding new opportunities in technology that increase transparency and efficiency for creators.

He is based in Los Angeles and reports directly to Kobalt’s founder and CEO, Willard Ahdritz.

Olinick began his career in the music business at BMG more than thirteen years ago.

Since then, he’s earned an MBA from Stanford University and worked as a Global Marketing Manager for Sony Music before setting up his own music management firm, Artist Alliance Entertainment.

After consulting for Bain & Company, he held an executive role at Rinse, a startup that offers an on-demand laundry service, where he led the charge to scale business beyond the primary market.

“As we lead the charge for change in the music industry, we have so many ideas and opportunities that will benefit content creators. With Lonny onboard, we can increase our output in these areas and execute our vision for the transformation of the music industry.”
