The annual Music Biz convention returns in 2017 from May 15th – 18th at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel in Nashville, North America.
Attendance stands at 1,500, and the event brings together decision-makers from the commerce, content and creative communities for four days of meetings, education and networking.
Troy Carter, a 20-year entertainment industry veteran who launched the career of Lady Gaga and has managed artists including Meghan Trainor, John Legend, Charlie Puth and Lindsey Stirling, will give a keynote presentation after being named Global Head of Creator Services at Spotify.
Other topics on the agenda include touring, live streaming, vinyl, messaging, international, D2F, crowdfunding, tweens & tech, e-commerce, playlisting, A&R, social media, licensing, publishing, high-res, VR, management, and professional development.
On Wednesday the 17th, an Awards Breakfast will honour Terry Currier, Owner of the iconic Portland, OR-based record store Music Millennium, with the Independent Spirit Award, while the Presidential Award for Outstanding Executive Achievement will go to Mike Dungan, Chairman and CEO of Universal Music Group Nashville.
