CTM Outlander buys New York-based publishing company one77 Music

Back in April, we learned that US-based investment firm Dallas-based Outlander Fund and Netherlands-based CTM BV were launching a strategic alliance to acquire music publishing and master rights.

This new venture, CTM Outlander Music LP, said that its ambition is to invest $1 billion in copyrights over the next five years.

Today brings news of one of CTM’s latest deals, with the announcement that it has purchased New York-based publishing company one77 Music, including all ownership and administration rights.

Headed up by industry veteran, President and CCO, Jennifer Blakeman, one77 Music’s catalog consists of more than 2,000 songs recorded by artists including Demi Lovato, Madonna, Martina McBride, Leona Lewis, John Legend, Carrie Underwood and Josh Groban.

Prominent writers in the catalog include Toby Gad (Leona Lewis, Madonna, John Legend and many more), the production team of Mike & Keys ( Michael “Money Mike” Cox & John “Keys” Groover) whose catalog includes records with Nipsey Hussle, Kehlani, Chance the Rapper, T.I., Snoop Dogg and many more).

It also includes Rodrick Doss, who scored the R&B/hip hop Top 10 hit Whole Lotta Money by BIA feat. Nicki Minaj, which has garnered more than 100 million streams.

In other acquisition news, CTM Outlander says that it now “represents total interests” in the works of Swedish songwriter Markus “Mack” Sepehrmanesh, whose hits include Lush Life, which recently surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify.

Supehrmanesh is one of several songwriters included in the 1,000 song catalog from Sweden-based TEN Music Group, which CTM Outlander acquired earlier this year.

“I feel very fortunate that he and CTM/Outlander have taken an interest in what we started at one77 Music.”
