Craig David launches publishing company with UMPG

British singer/songwriter/producer Craig David has teamed up with Universal Music Publishing (UMPG) and his manager Colin Lester of Twenty First Artists to launch JEM Music, a new music publishing company.

Craig David’s existing music publishing company, Bootyman Music, will merge and become part of JEM Music. As part of this new agreement, UMPG has also signed Craig David to an exclusive, worldwide music publishing agreement for all of his future works.

JEM Music will be a partnership between Universal Music Publishing Group, Colin Lester, and Craig David, and the company aims to sign both new and existing artists and catalogues.

Evan Lamberg, President of North America for UMPG, said, “To be in business with a great manager and song man such as Colin Lester is going to be pure fun. He is timeless in his approach as to that really matters….the song. And to make things even better, we get to work with one of my favorite songwriters of the last 15 years, Mr. Craig David.”

Colin Lester said of the new partnership, “I have worked with Craig David for many years and we both decided it was about time we formed a music publishing company that would allow us to work with the many great artists, producers and writers that we encounter. We have partnered with Evan Lamberg and his team at Universal Music Group because they are the best in the business and because their global reach and ambition gives the best platform to develop this exciting new company.”

Craig David added, “I’m really pleased that I am working with a publisher in Evan Lamberg whose opinion I really value and respect and who has a great understanding of artists and songwriting.”
