BMG acquires Tiempo Real Entertainment as it strikes Darlalata deal in Spain

BMG has struck a new wide-ranging publishing deal with Javier Tomás, the General Manager of Spain’s Darlalata Entertainment.

As a result, the rights company will administer the roster of Value Added Team, which includes the work of Spanish writers such as Maldita Nerea, Efecto Pasillo, Lagarto Amarillo and Funambulista, among others.

BMG has also fully acquired of Tiempo Real Entertainment (Real Time Entertainment), whose roster includes Antonio Orozco and Diego Martin.

Daniela Bosé, Managing Director of BMG (pictured with Javier Tomás) said: “Javier is a talent scout for artists, who are also always singer-songwriters.

“He did it with Maldita Nerea, Antonio Orozco, Efecto Pasillo, Funambulista, Lagarto Amarillo and Diego Martin.

“This requires having a long-term vision and not giving up, besides having great business skills.”

Javier Tomás, General Manager of Darlalata Entertainment, said: “The development of artists and writers requires the best specialists. These must respect and contribute to the reality and to the evolution of both writers and publishers.

“Through this deal both companies win, going in the same direction to achieve the ambitious goals we have planned.”

The news comes around two months after BMG beefed up its recorded music masters catalogue with the acquisition of the UK’s Union Square Music.

Its recent activity in Spain includes signing a publishing administration deal for the career-long works of a musical legend in the territory, Nacho Cano.Music Business Worldwide
