Managing Director of UK-based classical music distributor Select Music, Anthony Anderson (pictured), will step down from his post at the end of June, to be replaced by the current Head of Sales and Marketing, David Blake.
Anderson has been Managing Director of Select Music since 1997. He will remain with Select Music parent company, the Naxos Group, as Managing Director of the Naxos Audiobooks label.
Discussing his departure, Anderson said: “The last nineteen years at Select have been immensely pleasurable and interesting, and we have been able to grow the business in a rapidly changing market.
“I believe the prospects for the company remain positive and I wish David and the current team all the best for the future.”
Blake added: “During his time at the head of the company, Anthony has grown Select to its current position as the UK’s leading independent classical distributor.
“The fact that last week Select Music was responsible for the distribution of over half the titles in the Specialist Classical Chart is testament to his leadership. He’s a great bloke as well. My aim is to keep Select moving forward.”
