Columbia Records‘ Dir/A&R in the US, Andrew Keller, is making the switch to Universal‘s Capitol Music Group.

Keller, who spent 13 years at Sony‘s Columbia, will be based in New York at CMG, as VP/A&R for Capitol Records.

He will be responsible for signing and developing artists, as well as overseeing recording projects for new and established label artists.

The move reunites Keller with two former Columbia bigwigs: Ashley Newton, who joined CMG from Columbia earlier this year, and former Columbia Co-Chairman/COO Steve Barnett, who left the Sony label in 2012 to become Capitol boss.

Capitol Music Group COO Michelle Jubelirer said: “We are all so happy that Andrew has joined our Capitol family. He’s got great ears, a broad range of musical knowledge, and is incredibly driven to find and work with artists on the cutting edge.

“This is more than just a passion for Andrew; he lives and breathes his gig, and Capitol’s artists and future signings will benefit greatly in working with such a skilled and ambitious executive.”

Said Keller: “I am incredibly excited to be reunited with Steve Barnett and grateful to him and Michelle Jubelirer for the opportunity to join them as part of the Capitol team.

“From its legacy of iconic artists to its landmark Tower and studios, Capitol has served as a touchstone in the history of recorded music and it is a privilege to be a part of this exciting new chapter.”

At Columbia, Keller was responsible for signing and developing a diverse array of artists, including Krewella, Dillon Francis, Grammy-nominated Zhu and St Lucia.

He worked closely with metal band Bring Me The Horizon on last year’s That’s The Spirit album.Music Business Worldwide
